Carrapateira Beach - Western Algarve
About Carrapateira
Carrapateira is a stunning location in the Western Algarve, Portugal. It is situated in The Costa Vicentina Natural Park (which has very strict planning laws for future buildings) and is famous for it's surfing (the surfing world championships were held here this year 2005).
It's beautiful beaches are unspoiled and very quiet - the photos below were taken in the middle of July. The stunning coastline of Carrapateira is only a 20 minute car journey to Lagos, Arrifana, Aljuzur and Sagres. Pictures of Carrapateira village here.
