Surfing and Windsurfing Paradise
Carrapateira boasts some of the best surfing and windsurfing waves in Europe and was used to host the 2005 Surfing Championships. Sagres (20 mins away) is also a surfers paradise with the beaches of Tonel, Mareta, Baleeira and Martinhal, the later being regarded as THE best wind surfing location in Europe. Easy Access from Faro Airport
The journey from Faro Airport is just over an hours drive on the new motorway to Vila do Bispo then it's a 10 min journey to Carrapateira. Car hire is easily arranged from the airport with a friendly, local company.
